Roy Doolittle is the co-founder of Tropical Logistix, a company he built alongside Bill Gutek to supply building materials throughout the Caribbean. With a strong foundation in operations and a hands-on mindset, Roy played a key role in growing the business into a trusted building material supplier in the Caribbean
Before entering the building material industry in the Caribbean, Roy served in the United States Navy, where he trained and worked as an air traffic controller. He went on to continue this career with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), dedicating nearly 30 years to ensuring the safety and efficiency of air travel.
Roy’s strong work ethic began early, growing up working as a mechanic with a passion on racing. This hands-on experience laid the foundation for his practical, solutions-oriented approach to business.
Having spent most of his adult life in Florida, Roy enjoys an active lifestyle centered around the water. He and his wife and daughter have made countless memories on the lake—whether skiing, tubing, or simply relaxing on quiet Sunday mornings.
Following his retirement, Roy transitioned his ownership in Tropical Logistix to his son-in-law, Ian, and now focuses on enjoying life at a slower pace. Today, he embraces a new chapter filled with travel, often exploring the country in an RV with his wife.
Above all, he values time with family—whether at home, in the Caribbean, or exploring new destinations with his wife, daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren.
